Elektron Super Sekvens

The sonic smörgåsbord that is Elektron Super Sekvens returns to Intonal Festival. Get ready for an evening of live music as Johanna Knutsson, Zuli, Elin Piel, Anders Skibsted and the Elektron Team bring their own distinctive audio flavors together to create a unique real-time collaborative performance. These artists will sometimes take the spotlight, and other times share it, melding together the varying tones, beats, and melodies into a one-off – and at times improvised – experience, full of electronic and acoustic instruments.

Johanna Knutsson
For over a decade, Knutsson has been crafting otherworldly, alluring techno infusions both from her studio and beaming out onto dancefloors. With a catalogue of explorative composition spanning multiple genres, Knutsson’s sets are full of kinetic impetus and unexpected detours that create singular, enveloping musical moments. Whether it is a soaring BPM-trip or a soothing private carpet ride, the emphasis is on connection with the audience, building a wordless interaction where energy and motion flux freely.

Zuli
Ahmed El Ghazoly, aka ZULI, is a musician, producer, and sound artist from Cairo, Egypt. Internationally, ZULI is best known for his releases on Lee Gamble’s UIQ, which included a string of EPs as well as his debut LP, Terminal – an album that highlighted the depth in his productions, as he simultaneously combines experimentations with music for listening and for the dancefloor. The wide-ranging sound of ZULI’s music has seen it garner support across the board courtesy of the likes of Aphex Twin, Autechre, Ben UFO, Bradley Zero, and Richie Hawtin. He joined the NTS Radio roster in 2016 with a monthly show that includes a dedicated hour for guest appearances from DJs he meets while touring around the world.

Elin Piel
The Gothenburg-based electronic musician creates rhythmic soundscapes through improvisation that repeat for enthralling emphasis, before gently shifting. She leads us through dreamy paths and polyrhythmic textures, sometimes resting in brightly shimmering worlds, only to lift off and soar away into dark, pulsating clouds of unrest until the next moment.

Anders Skibsted
The Danish composer, performer, and creator of music of otherworldly acoustics and unrealistic timbres has a musical output spanning compositions for large instrumental ensembles, spatial electro-acoustic creations, and intense electronic music combining complex rhythm programming with abstract timbral explorations. Beginning as a bandoneon player deeply rooted in tango, Skibsted later trained as a classical composer, and is drawn to the avant-garde as well as the abstract drum machine logic of electronic music. He continually explores new avenues – leading contemporary tango ensemble erhværv and writing for soloists and ensembles. His 2025 release, posseposseres on Endless Process, furthers his construction of abstract electronic music that is driven by insisting and forward thinking beats, wrapped in percussive layers of hyperreal and spectral sounds.
