Hviledag
Danish artist Anton Friisgaard creates both haunting and meditative soundscapes by reworking sonic material using a unique reel-to-reel tape machine system.
Hviledag works with textured electronic and acoustic music, in the spectrum between composition and improvisation. His immersive and longform works invite the listener on a unique musical journey by mixing analogue, digital, and acoustic timbres. By navigating temperamental changes Hviledags music wants to soothe and confront, connect and detach, and bring forth the heterogeneous, the transitory, and in-betweenness that is overlooked in everyday life.
Hviledag’s live sets focus on creating pulsating sonic shapes and feature awe-inducing power electronics and sensitively introspective passages. This wide dynamic provides the listener with calm fugues as well as emotional catharsis.
