Gabriela Prochazka
Gabriela Prochazka is a multimedia artist with a focus on light art, based in Prague. She’s interested in the intersection of art & technology & contemporary culture.
Her work is often deliberately aesthetically pleasing, it’s a trick to entice the viewer, yet in a closer inspection offers other explanations, to those open to the invitation. Various collaboration with professionals in other fields such as sound designers, cinematographers, performers, photographers, or ecologists comes naturally to her as she believes in mutual positive influences, and it adds layers and complexity in both the artworks and individual growth.
She has a Masters’s degree in Digital Media at the Faculty of Arts and Design UJEP and has participated in study internships at Universities of Art in Paris and Bezalel Academy of Fine Arts in Jerusalem.
Because of her multimedia approach, he works had been exhibited at diverse venues from galleries (Šopa gallery, Chemistry Gallery, Hranicar Gallery, Holesovica Sachta), during AV performances in Prague venues (National Gallery of Prague in The Fair Trade Palace), Berlin (Berghain, OHM, Funkhaus, Spektrum – art science community) and new media art festivals (Mira Festival, Lunchmeat Festival, Retune festival Berlin, Signal Festival of Lights, Rewire festival Amsterdam, International Festival of Technologies Delft, The New Now Festival – Essen).
