Fulu Miziki

Although Fulu Miziki's genesis dates back to the late ‘90s, according to the eight members of the group they come straight from a future where humans have reconciled with the earth and with themselves. This multidisciplinary collective of artists from Kinshasa was founded by Pisko Crane more than 15 years ago. Alongside Lady Aicha, Sekelembele, Padou, Deboul, DeBoul, Tche Tche, La Roche, and Le Meilleur, he conceptualized an orchestra made from salvaged objects found in garbage cans, instruments that are constantly changing, always looking for new sounds to make their unique eco-friendly, Afro-Futurist-punk.

Making their own instruments, costumes, and masks is essential to their approach. Their unique sound carries a pan-African message of artistic liberation, peace and a hard look at the ecological situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo and around the world. For Fulu everything can be reclaimed and re-enchanted.
