The Montreal power trio released by Southern Lord with ties to Thee Silver Mt Zion and Godspeed! You Black Emperor find the sweet spot between heavy and post-rock.

This power trio from Montreal started in 2012 with subtle ambient/minimalistic folk songs and the attempt to be as tranquil as possible. After a turn to electric, they still respected the power of minimalism and fragility, although it became clear that loud volume would become just as effective as the lowest possible ones, and the juxtaposition of both would become a Big Brave hallmark. 

After self-releasing their debut album, Feral Verdure, in 2014, the band began to play regularly with Thee Silver Mt Zion and Godspeed! You Black Emperor. In 2015, they entered the studio with Efrim Menuck (who was a major part of both of those seminal acts) and recorded Au De La. Taking a chance, they wrote to beloved metal and heavy rock label Southern Lord, who has released their records ever since. (Along with Au De La, Southern Lord released Ardor in 2017, A Gaze Among Them in 2019, and VITAL in 2021).
