Christian Stadsgaard is a crucial figure in contemporary Nordic electronic and experimental music, both as an artist and in his role as co-founder of the influential Copenhagen-based label, Posh Isolation (alongside Loke Rahbek). In his main, solo project Vanity Productions, Stadsgaard is known for his innovative and elaborately expressive style. Under the banner, “broken hearts and broken electronics,” he oscillates between electronic experimentation, noise exploration, and elevated melodic elaboration, directing tender forces with an assertive and impulsive streak.

Stadsgaard also records and performs with Rahbek as Damien Dubrovnik, and more recently his collaborative work with Jonas Rönnberg (aka Varg2tm) and Isak Hansen (Iron Sight) as The Empire Line gained significant notoriety. His collaboration with the seminal artist Merzbow in 2019 led to their shared Coastal Erosion album for iDEAL Recordings, prefacing a recent series of works that take their cues from minimalist composition.
