The classically-trained composer has worked with several symphony orchestras, chamber music groups, and soloists, and has received numerous scholarships and grants, recently focusing on music theater and music with words in various forms. In his musical creations, Sersam challenges conventional notions of progression and process, and is interested in the encounter of acoustic situations and rapid, ruthless transformations. He also explores the theme of an ongoing inner narrative in the medium of music.

Sersam, a founding member of the composer group Hertzbreakerz, was previously a member of the artistic advisory board of the Connect Festival for New Music. Since 2017, he has been one of the artistic directors of the annual Sound Spaces Festival in Malmö.
