Safety Trance
Barcelona-based Venezuelan DJ/artist/producer Luis Garban, aka Cardopusher, is a longtime friend/collaborator of Arca and a veteran of noisy dancefloor assaults.
During the early 2000s, inspired by IDM, jungle, and hardcore, Garban began his first steps into the production world. Although he started in the breakcore/rave scene, in recent years his productions have gravitated toward a more industrial type of sound, fusing different genres from EBM, wave, hardcore, acid to techno, and reggaeton. From working with Boys Noize to co-produce music for legendary UK band The Horrors, in 2022 he debuted the video/song “El Alma Que Te Trajo” – made with longtime friend and collaborator Arca – under new alias Safety Trance. Taken from his 4 track EP Noches de Terror, he expertly collides menacing industrial and leftfield reggaeton to reveal a soundtrack for uncertain times. Previous work under this alias features on several tracks from Arca’s “KiCk” series for XL Recordings, including singles “KLK”, “Prada/Rakata”, “Tiro”, and “Queer”.
